For example, the "Yall Mart" (yes, really) has more food, but can get a bit cramped. On the first stop, ya got 3 choices, and each choice has different layouts, perks, and disadvantages.

At the start of the game, ya get a hint, with the option to read more of them, but the game will only give ya so many hints. There's multiple modes, with 3 already unlocked, but for now we'll go with normal mode. Oh, and a TVTropes page, can't forget about that either). (Of course, they have a wiki, but that takes the fun out of discovering stuff. I don't wanna spoil it for ya, since part of the fun is figuring it out and experimenting for yourself. One thing to note is that barring certain Perks and Traits, everyone starts with 3 HP. Some are passive, others have more noticeable effects like letting you start with things like an extra gun or medkit. Perks are like character classes, and Traits can tweak things a little for or against you. So, ya can have up to 2 characters when you start the game, and up to a party of 4. I know it's cruel, but I guess it's to prevent save scumming, being a roguelike and all. Anyways ya have 3 save slots, but just a warning, if you exit out of the game midmission your save will be deleted in retaliation. What this means is that if you get overwhelmed, hope ya have a gun or a fast character (or both). See, DR2C combines a Zombie Apocalypse with some of the ideas of a roguelike (such as an inventory system and, most notably permadeath). It's nice and simple, if you're like me and feel the need to retake it everytime ya boot up the game because you're worried you'll forget the controls midgame, when ya get to "Unlocks" (second option on the main menu), go to the house on the right and talk to the Scientist.Īnyways, when ya finish the tutorial (I'm too lazy to explain the controls), one thing you might notice is the "Custom Characters" option, but for now, we'll get through the game first.or as much of it as I can.
